Women of Words by Lollipop Posse Lacquer | Indie Polish Review

February 10th, 2017

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

This new collection by Karen, of Lollipop Posse Lacquer, is inspired by a strong girl or woman from some of her favorite books. This collection consists of five beautiful shades that applied like a dream, all in two easy coats, and have that gorgeous Lollipop sparkle! I’ll tell you about launch details after the pictures…

First up is [really almost beautiful]; “Under the pink Harlequin sunglasses, strawberry lipstick, earrings dangling charms, and sugar-frosted eyeshadow, she was really almost beautiful.” ~Weetzie Bat, by Francesca Lia Block

This is a deep jewel-toned raspberry shade filled with linear holographic pigment and silver holographic micro flakies. Every single one of these shades is so gorgeous, and I love this entire collection, so I’m just going to give you the descriptions, because I don’t really have any words for how amazing this collection is!

Next up is [courage, dear heart]; “But no one, except Lucy, knew that as the albatross circled the mast it had whispered to her ‘Courage, dear heart’, and the voice, she felt sure, was Aslan’s.” ~The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, by C.S. Lewis

This one is a glittering, glistening gold holographic that is packed with gold and bronze micro flakies and shimmers with a green undertone. This is a gorgeous gold!

Next we have [half so interesting]; “There’s such a lot of different Anne’s in me. I sometimes think that is why I’m such a troublesome person. If I was just the one Anne it would be ever so much more comfortable, but then it wouldn’t be half so interesting.” ~Anne of Green Gables, by L.M. Montgomery

This beauty is a deep, opaque emerald shade that is packed with scattered holographic pigment, blue micro flakies, bronze micro flakies, and blue/green shifting pigment.

Here we have [i give you your faults]; “Meg, I give you your faults.”
“My faults!” Meg cried.
“Your faults.”
“But I’m always trying to get rid of my faults.”
“Yes,” Mr Whatsit said. “However, I think you’ll find they’ll come in very handy on Comazotz.”
~ A Wrinkle in Time, by Madeleine L’Engle

This one is a rich, jewel-toned, holographic teal with bright sparks of gold and bronze micro flakies scattered throughout.

And lastly we have [you are the gull (strong and wild)]; “You are the gull, Jo, strong and wild, fond of the storm and the wind, flying far out to sea, and happy all alone.” ~Little Women, by Louisa May Alcott

This gorgeous beauty is a rich and luxurious sapphire/indigo shade packed with blue micro flakies and holographic pigment. (this is the beauty that I used as an accent nail in my Super Bowl mani; gorgeous, right??)

I’m not sure that I could pick one favorite out of this collection because I truly love them ALL!! Could you pick just one?

Launch date is Friday, February 17th, 7p Eastern. They will be $12 each, and if you get all 5, there will be a 10% discount on the set for the first 24 hours of the sale! During this launch there will also be a restock of [dishing just desserts], [bid adieu to your ennui], and [a party to calm your nerves]. There will also be a small quantity re-released of [shiny blue water]! So be sure to set those alarms, folks, because you don’t want to miss out on any of these beauties!! All of the above will be available in Karen’s Lollipop shop.

Happy Hour at the Bar by Top Shelf Lacquer | Indie Polish Review

January 23rd, 2017

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

Today I have the upcoming collection from Top Shelf Lacquer to share with you! It’s a gorgeous 11-piece collection called “Happy Hour at the Bar”, and contains various finishes and colors. The launch date for this collection is January 27th at 8pm EST, and they will be available in Amy’s shop.

FYI: this is a picture-heavy post since this collection contains 11 polishes! =D

First up is [gin and bear it!]; full coverage pink and gold micro glitter with a sprinkling of holo. I used 3 coats to achieve full coverage in my swatch. This is the daintiest out of the bunch, but also quite a classy polish.

Next up is [everything happens for a riesling]; a full coverage lavender micro glitter with plenty of holo bling. I’m pretty sure there’s some teal in there too! I used 2 coats for opacity. Another glittery beauty!

Here we have [because no great story ever started with salad]; a full coverage teal micro glitter with lots of holo bling. I LOVE this one! Teal is one of my favorite colors lately, and this one is so sparkly and WOW! I used 3 coats for even coverage (that was due to user error).

And the last of the micro glitters is [let’s get ready to stumble]; a magenta full coverage micro glitter with sparks of holo. I used 2 coats for opacity.

Next up is [save water, drink wine]; a deep rich currant wine creme base with red shimmer and a slight touch of holo. This one ended up being a surprise favorite out of the entire bunch for me. There’s just something special about it! Like it glows from within! I used two coats for my swatch.

Next is [i have mixed drinks about feelings]; an indigo base with a strong peach shimmer shift and some added ultra chrome chameleon flakes and a touch of scattered holo. I used 2 coats for my swatch. I was concerned that the flakes wouldn’t sit well on my nail and would clump up, but they didn’t cause any problems at all. And such a beautiful color!!

Here is my other choice for favorite in this collection! [trust me, you can dance~vodka]; a multi-chrome that shifts between cobalt, purple, and teal with an added touch of linear holo. I had a hard time capturing the purple shift, but it is SO gorgeous!!!!!! Two coats for my swatch!

Here we have [sippity doo dah, sippity yay]; a deep wine multi-chrome that shifts from orange/bronze to red/purple with added linear holo. Two coats for my swatch. Another gorgeous shifty beauty! (the shift was a little harder to capture on this one, but it was there!)

[i drink and i know things]; an eggplant base with multi-chrome flakes, scattered holo and a touch of red shimmer. Another pretty one with the flakes! Two coats for my swatch.

[it’s happy hour, drink until he’s cute!]; a multi-chrome that shifts from blue to purple to pink/gold and has ultra chrome chameleon flakes and a touch of scattered holo. I used two coats for my swatch. I was able to capture some of the shift in this one; another beauty!

And lastly [beauty is in the eye of the beer holder]; a deep fuchsia base with a bright pink shimmer, a touch of holo, and a sprinkling of blue glass fleck. The blue glass fleck makes this one glow! It’s stunning! I used two coats for my swatch.

What do you think? Do any of them stand out to you as must-haves? Once again, these will launch on January 27th at 8P EST in Amy’s shop.

New Indie Alert; Lila Polish | Indie Polish Review

January 19th, 2017

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

Today I want to share with you a new indie that will be launching tomorrow, January 20th! Lila Polish created by Lillian. She is a super sweet gal, and it has been fun to work with her on these bottle images and swatches, and I can’t wait to see her brand flourish!

The debut collection consists of 6 gorgeous cremes with an amazing formula! I’m not sure yet on the price of these beauties, but I’m sure they will be worth it. I have a feeling that they may even stamp, though I have not tried it yet. Let’s get to the pictures…

First up is [evil eye]; a gorgeous marine blue. I used two coats and top coat for my swatch. All of these polishes could almost be one-coaters, but I always like to do two thinner coats for nice even coverage. Again, the formula on these is amazing. It was a nice buttery application! And just look at the color!!! Drooling!!

Next up is [trophy wife]; this is one of my favorites! A beautiful neutral color that applied in three easy coats and top coat for a nice opaque coverage. It could’ve been a two-coater, but I was having some hand pain while I was swatching so I was having some difficulty with my swatch which left me with some bald spots, so I needed a third coat, but just barely. This is a such a dainty shade, and I love it!

Here we have [buy me a drink]; a stunning berry/purple shade! My most favorite of this collection. Two easy coats and top coat for my swatch. This color is so rich. Oh, and by the way, no staining from any of these shades, and I swatched on bare nails (no base coat)!!

Here is [hopeless romantic]; a beautiful pinky/nude. I really can’t say enough great things about these polishes! Two easy coats and top coat!

Next up is [casual camo]; you know me and greens, but I’m actually totally diggin’ this one! Two buttery coats and top coat and done! (it did dry a bitt darker on me than it shows in the bottle, but still gorgeous!)

And lastly, the gorgeous red [off melrose]; a red that’s not fully red! I love it!! And not a stainer! Even better!! Two amazing coats and top coat for my swatch!

So, basically, if you’re at all into cremes, you NEED these!!! They launch tomorrow, January 20th over at Lillian’s shop! Follow Lila Polish on Instagram for details on launch time, and you can also check out her pretty pictures!!

Next up is [away in a manger]; a baby blue with pink and aqua shimmer in it. I used two coats and top coat for this one and it was easily opaque with two coats! This is a nice soft blue, and so shimmery!

Here we have [joy to the world]; a light green with a slight pink shimmer. Again, I used two coats and top coat for my swatch. I was worried that this one might give me lobster hands, but it wasn’t too bad. It’s a very nice green, and it was opaque in two coats.
