Happy Hour at the Bar by Top Shelf Lacquer | Indie Polish Review

January 23rd, 2017

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

Today I have the upcoming collection from Top Shelf Lacquer to share with you! It’s a gorgeous 11-piece collection called “Happy Hour at the Bar”, and contains various finishes and colors. The launch date for this collection is January 27th at 8pm EST, and they will be available in Amy’s shop.

FYI: this is a picture-heavy post since this collection contains 11 polishes! =D

First up is [gin and bear it!]; full coverage pink and gold micro glitter with a sprinkling of holo. I used 3 coats to achieve full coverage in my swatch. This is the daintiest out of the bunch, but also quite a classy polish.

Next up is [everything happens for a riesling]; a full coverage lavender micro glitter with plenty of holo bling. I’m pretty sure there’s some teal in there too! I used 2 coats for opacity. Another glittery beauty!

Here we have [because no great story ever started with salad]; a full coverage teal micro glitter with lots of holo bling. I LOVE this one! Teal is one of my favorite colors lately, and this one is so sparkly and WOW! I used 3 coats for even coverage (that was due to user error).

And the last of the micro glitters is [let’s get ready to stumble]; a magenta full coverage micro glitter with sparks of holo. I used 2 coats for opacity.

Next up is [save water, drink wine]; a deep rich currant wine creme base with red shimmer and a slight touch of holo. This one ended up being a surprise favorite out of the entire bunch for me. There’s just something special about it! Like it glows from within! I used two coats for my swatch.

Next is [i have mixed drinks about feelings]; an indigo base with a strong peach shimmer shift and some added ultra chrome chameleon flakes and a touch of scattered holo. I used 2 coats for my swatch. I was concerned that the flakes wouldn’t sit well on my nail and would clump up, but they didn’t cause any problems at all. And such a beautiful color!!

Here is my other choice for favorite in this collection! [trust me, you can dance~vodka]; a multi-chrome that shifts between cobalt, purple, and teal with an added touch of linear holo. I had a hard time capturing the purple shift, but it is SO gorgeous!!!!!! Two coats for my swatch!

Here we have [sippity doo dah, sippity yay]; a deep wine multi-chrome that shifts from orange/bronze to red/purple with added linear holo. Two coats for my swatch. Another gorgeous shifty beauty! (the shift was a little harder to capture on this one, but it was there!)

[i drink and i know things]; an eggplant base with multi-chrome flakes, scattered holo and a touch of red shimmer. Another pretty one with the flakes! Two coats for my swatch.

[it’s happy hour, drink until he’s cute!]; a multi-chrome that shifts from blue to purple to pink/gold and has ultra chrome chameleon flakes and a touch of scattered holo. I used two coats for my swatch. I was able to capture some of the shift in this one; another beauty!

And lastly [beauty is in the eye of the beer holder]; a deep fuchsia base with a bright pink shimmer, a touch of holo, and a sprinkling of blue glass fleck. The blue glass fleck makes this one glow! It’s stunning! I used two coats for my swatch.

What do you think? Do any of them stand out to you as must-haves? Once again, these will launch on January 27th at 8P EST in Amy’s shop.

NASA Hubble collection by NvrEnuff Polish | Indie Polish Review

December 20th, 2015

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

Today’s post is all about nail polish + outer space. This beautiful collection from the girls over at NvrEnuff Polish is called the NASA Hubble collection. And let me tell you, it most definitely reminds me of outer space. These polishes were inspired by some amazing photos taken by the Hubble Telescope. For my swatches I used two coats and top coat. And as per usual, these polishes apply like a dream. NvrEnuff makes some of my favorite polishes, and their formula is superb!! Take a peek below, and see for yourself how beautiful this collection is!! (normally I link each polish to their page in the shop, but currently their site is down for maintenance because they are prepping for a restock, I will try to correct the links when their site is live again)

The First one in this collection is [earliest galaxies]. This gorgeous teal/blue is loaded up with teal and holo glitters throughout.

And now because Lynne and Alix are simply awesome ladies, they also sent me this gorgeous purple (purple is my favorite color, and they just know the way to my heart! and because the first swatch package they sent out to me got lost in postal service neverland). This is [indie shop til you drop], and was their limited edition Small Business Saturday polish that they had during the Black Friday weekend. Thank you, both, for this lovely surprise!!

EA Polish | Indie Polish Review

October 29th, 2015

**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**

“Embellish your nails, and adorn your fingers” is the motto of EA Polish; a recently revamped indie polish company. When you shop their website, you get to choose a ring to go along with each polish that you add to your cart. How fun is that!!

They recently sent me 6 polishes to swatch and review, and 6 different rings as well! This was such a fun set of polishes to review! I love the variety of colors, and it was neat to play with the different rings too!

EA Polish bottles and rings

First up is [one piece]. An amazing ONE COAT berry pink polish. I almost used two coats out of habit, but it really didn’t need it. Full coverage in just one coat! The formula is perfection, and applied like a dream!! And how pretty is this open pearl/crystal ring?!

Next up is [R & R]. This aqua beauty was a tad finicky on the first coat, but the second coat was a breeze and evened it out. I love this color!! Probably my second favorite out of the bunch (I’ll tell you my favorite shortly). And I LOVE the antique gold/turquoise ring this one came with! So much fun!

EA Polish r & r swatch

This shimmery blurple is called [carry on]. This is showing very blue in my picture, but is actually quite a bit more purple in person. This was close to being a one-coater, but I felt like it needed a second coat to even it out. I do feel like it ended up a bit streaky being that it is almost a frost-type finish. But it’s finished look is still very beautiful! The simple chevron ring with the crystal added a nice touch.

This fun shade is [tulle me not]. This has a more jelly-type finish. I did need three coats for opacity, but that didn’t bother me. It’s such a fun and bright shade!! And I super love the teal seaweed ring that came along with this one! =D

Next up is [fine china]. This gorgeous teal jelly is loaded up with glitter in shades of turquoise and gold, and is so dimensional (you can see it better in person than in my picture)! I used two easy coats on this one. I was warned to use base coat with this one (which I always do when I swatch), and I will warn you as well. Even using base coat for my swatch and only wearing it for about 5 minutes, I could see signs of staining, so just be cautious when using this polish. It may work best using one or two coats over a creme base first instead of directly over a  base coat. The ring that was paired with this one is so dainty. A wrap around with two crystals. So pretty!

And lastly (my favorite, because DUH purple!) is [Barry, no!]. Another amazing one-coater!! The formula on these cremes is sheer perfection!! Applies like buttah!! And this color…it’s just so gorgeous!! The ring that was paired with this one is a simple chevron with a crystal and it goes so nicely with this deep purple. A perfect Fall combination!

If you’re looking for a new indie brand to try, go give these ladies a follow on Instagram and check out their fun shop and blog! You will not be disappointed!! I can’t wait until they get more polish in their shop! I loved every polish that I just swatched from them, and am already looking forward to using them again!!

Rainbow Dry-Brush | Tillie Polish

January 18th, 2015

Dry-brushing is one of my favorite mani techniques. It is simple and you get different results each time. And you can also mix it up by dry-brushing in different directions. For this mani I did horizontal dry-brushing to create this rainbow. I used Tillie Polish for all of my colors in this mani. (their shop is currently closed, but I will create product links when they’re back open)

Colors used:
Tillie Polish [ethereal]
Tille Polish [beach babe]
Tillie Polish [buttercream dream]
Tillie Polish [apple of my pie]
Tille Polish [tillie]
Tillie Polish [sarong, treat so right]
SpellBound Nails [holo back girl holo topcoat]
