**this product is a press sample and was sent to me to swatch and give my honest review**
Today I am honored to share with you a brand new addition to the neon collection over at Native War Paints. These new neons are a bit different in that they are made with a gray base instead of a white base, making them truly unique. And of course they have that amazing shimmer! They are called “The Smokey Neons” and they’re awesome!
I admit that I was nervous when Brian and Amanda sent these to me to swatch, because I knew that they would want some water marble swatches, and well, me and water marbling just don’t play well together. But Amanda suggested that I watch the video that she and her husband made for their YouTube Channel, of her husband doing a water marble with their polishes to see just how easy it really is, and I did, and I think I’ve finally gotten the hang of it (I’ll let you be the judge of that as I’ve posted a couple at the end of this post).
So now, let’s get to my swatches of this gorgeous collection 😛
[smoke and mirrors]; a muted neon magenta with gold, green, and blue shifty shimmer. I used two coats and top coat for my swatch. These all appear thin on the first coat, but the second coat brings that opacity home.
[up in smoke]; a muted neon red with cyan, blue, and purple shifty shimmer. I used two coats and top coat for my swatch. This is one of my favorites from this collection!
[smoke out]; a muted neon orange with blue, purple, red, and orange shifty shimmer. I used two coats and top coat for my swatch.
[blowing smoke]; a muted neon green with indigo, purple, and red shifty shimmer. I used two coats and top coat for my swatch.
[holy smokes]; a muted neon blue with red, yellow, and orange shifty shimmer. This is another favorite for me, which is unusual as I’m not typically a fan of blues, but this one is just so beautiful! Two coats and top coat for my swatch.
[smoke screen]; a muted neon purple with red, orange and yellow shifty shimmer. Another favorite because…PURPLE! Two coats and top coat for my swatch.
This amazing, must-have collection launches in the Native War Paints shop on April 28th at 12pm Eastern (and will also be available at The Polish Convention in NYC on April 29th). Make sure you get yours ordered, or pick them up at Polish Con, because you absolutely need these! They will be $8 each or $45 for the collection during preorder.
Now let’s get to some nail art…
I attempted some water marbling with these smokey neons, and I must say, it was much easier than my previous attempts in the past that were not successful at all. I think I did pretty well. It did take a while, and I needed a few attempts, hence only a few nails and not an entire mani. Let me know what you think…
I also did a couple manis of my usual abstract style. I did a squishy marble and a brush-stroke mani, and then did some stamping on each of them.
This is such a fabulous collection, and I can’t wait to play with them some more!! These beauties launch on Friday April 28th on the Native War Paints website, and will also be available at Polish Con NYC on April 29th. Be sure to grab some for yourself so you can have just as much fun as I have been!
